Labia Majora Plastic Surgery
Labia majora plastic surgery is most often carried out because of their atrophy which occurs as a cause of the natural aging process or significant weight loss. The procedure involves filling labia majora with the patient’s fat, collected from the umbilical region. An alternative to this method is to enlarge the labia majora with hyaluronic acid and mannitol. The effect of the treatment lasts from one to two years. As in the case of labia minora plastic surgery, this procedure is also carried out under local anesthesia. Its execution time is shorter and usually does not exceed 20 minutes.
Recommendations
The patient comes in for a follow-up examination after seven days. Pain and an increased body temperature are natural consequences, so as to ensure the greatest comfort the doctor prescribes over the counter painkillers. In special cases, they can also be pain-relieving medications available on prescription. Wound healing usually takes no more than seven days, more or less time is required for the reduction of swelling. During the first two weeks after surgery, women should take special care to avoid strenuous physical activity and sudden movements. Return to work should be consulted with the doctor performing surgery. The healing rate of wounds largely dependents on compliance with the doctor’s instructions and compliance with good hygiene of intimate areas. When washing and drying the intimate area, avoid washcloths, sponges and bars of soap because they may contain bacteria. First sexual activity after surgery is possible after a few weeks. This moment is always determined by your doctor based on your current state of health.
