Stress Urinary Incontinence

Stress Urinary Incontinence

Problems and physical and mental discomfort associated with urinary incontinence can occur at any age, but often occurs as a consequence of pregnancy, childbirth and during menopause. Most often, urine is excreted in an uncontrolled manner in the most unexpected situations – physical activity, laughter, coughing. The cause of urinary incontinence is a weakening of the pelvic floor muscles, which affect the operation of the urethra. Contemporary aesthetic medicine treat these symptoms using laser methods (laser Monalisa Touch), which allow safe, non-invasive treatment of stress urinary incontinence – only in the early stage. Following surgery, both physical and psychological functioning improves significantly.

Recommendations and Course of Treatment

The purpose of the first consultation visit is to determine the patients current state of health, medical history, instruct adequate diagnostic tests and inform about the approximate course of laser treatment of stress urinary incontinence. During the course of the treatment, laser beams cause tightening of the vaginal wall, stimulation of collagen fibers thanks to which the urethra’s situation is improved. The overall effect of the treatment is obtained after one month from the date of its execution. The laser is inserted into the vagina using a specially modeled head, which allows the most important points in the vagina to be affected – the vestibule, the anterior wall and the bladder exit. The treatment does not produce pain and does not require general or local anesthesia. After its execution, hospitalization is also not required. Depending on the patient’s health, one to two treatments are recommended.
