When do implants have to be exchanged?
Breast implant exchange prescribed in several cases. The shape of breasts changes with time, mainly because the skin looses elasticity. Women’s preferences of shape and size may also change. Thanks to the exchange, it is possible to match the size of implants to the needs of a woman. Exchanging implants for a newer model also ensures a sense of security. It is also recommended in the case of mechanical damage, or if they are the reason for physical or psychological discomfort.
What to do prior to surgery?
During a physical examination, the patient is introduced to the procedure of the operation, has a chance to define her needs, and primarily familiarize herself with different size and shape variations. This is also a proper moment to plan additional actions – for example skin plasty. The doctor familiarizes himself with the patient’s health condition and prescribes necessary diagnostic tests.
What to expect during surgery?
The surgery is carried out applying general anesthesia, and usually last from an hour and a half to two hours. As in the first, beast enhancement surgery, it is necessary to follow the doctor’s indications.
What should be avoided after implant exchange surgery?
Under no circumstance should you do any physical activity, lift heavy objects, or make sudden movements. For a month after surgery, a special bra should be worn and you should not sun bathe, visit the sauna or tanning salon.
