Neck Lift Surgery

Signs of aging and fatigue appear quickly on the face and neck and these primarily impinge on the overall appearance and psychological well-being. Quite often, imperfections appear on the skin of the neck before anywhere else – both as a result of the natural aging process and too rapid weight loss. The face seems to be deprived of individual character and expression. People with such imperfections are often perceived by people as pessimists, which obviously do not always reflect the real character of a person. Women undergo neck lift surgery, but men who care about their appearance also.

What to expect during surgery?

The purpose of this operation is to reduce excess hanging skin. Before the surgery, a series of diagnostic tests is required, as well as cure of all inflammatory conditions of the mouth, withdrawal or radical minimization in the amount of smoked cigarettes. Neck lift surgery is performed in full general anesthesia and requires at least two day hospitalization. It lasts for two to three hours and comes down to a series of incisions, lifting and removal of unnecessary skin. Sometimes it is necessary to aspirate excess adipose tissue and perform muscle plasty in the chin area. The wound is closed with stitches that are removed in stages, depending on how quick the healing process is.

How to proceed after the surgery?

Patients who underwent neck lift surgery must go to control visits every two to three days and a complete return to daily activities is possible after about a month. During convalescence, patients must avoid even the slightest of physical activity. Tanning in the sun or sun tanning studio, as well as visiting the sauna is not advisable for half a year after surgery.
