Shoulder Plastic Surgery
As a result of the natural aging process or rapid weight loss, skin on arms begins to sag, and this is a big problem for many people. Brachioplasty, because this is the technical term for this procedure, allows you to restore the attractive appearance or your arms. Arm tuck involves the removal of unnecessary skin and adipose tissue. All cuts are located in such places that they do not attract attention. The surgery is relatively safe and usually takes no longer than two hours to perform. Shoulder plastic surgery can be performed on those who enjoy good health.
What to expect during surgery?
The procedure is preceded by a physical examination where the doctor is familiarized with the patient’s health history, the course of the treatment is explained and the doctor prescribes necessary diagnostic tests. The procedure is performed using local anesthesia and involves surgical removal of excess skin to restore its proper tension and position. Then, stitches are put in along with surgical drains. The latter allow the collecting blood to escape for the next few days after surgery. A natural consequence of the operation is the occurrence of local bruising and swelling, which gradually disappears within two to three weeks.
How to proceed after the surgery?
Although it is possible to return to normal activities the following day, it is advisable to avoid physical activity and sudden movements for at least two weeks. Stitches are removed one week after surgery, while the drains already two days after surgery.
