Surgical Removal of Scar Tissue (up to 5 cm)
Surgical intervention in the body leaves scars that are often the source of insecurities and lower a person’s sense of attractiveness. Their size and depth mainly depend of the location and cutting direction, type and amount of stitches, age of the patient and the nature of the operation. However, an important factor is the healing process; inflammatory conditions are critical in particular because they can result in keloid – irregularly shaped thickening of the skin. Scars often cause cramp, pain and intense itching, that is why their removal is supported by a health factor.
What to expect during surgery?
Surgical scars may be easily removed, improving the patients appearance and normally provides favourable results. Surgical scar removal is conducted to reduce their size and shape. The effectiveness of this procedure mainly depends on the patient’s health, age, individual predispositions (vulnerability of scarring), and the amount of time after the wound has healed. A physical examination and diagnostic tests must be conducted prior to surgery.
