Cosmetic surgery
Rhinoplasty - septune cartilage, ethmoid bone
Rhinoplasty is usually performed in two versions – as corrective plastic surgery, known as septune cartilage, and rhinoplasty hump, also known as ethmoid bone. The indications for its implementation are not only esthetic, but also all kinds of deformities resulting from accidents or anatomical changes (for example, deviated septum) that hinder proper functioning of the respiratory system. Carrying out rhinoplasty can straighten it, remove a hump, reduce its size, shape the tip and improve facial symmetry. Deviating from anatomical and esthetic norms, the nose may be a source of insecurities for both, men and women. It affect a sense of self-attractiveness and in many cases interferes with daily functioning. Although it is not classified as a simple procedure, correcting the nose allows patients to obtain very satisfying results.
What to expect during surgery?
Proper results of diagnostic tests and good general health are conditions to qualify for surgery. Definite contraindications for the surgery include: diabetes, sinusitis, stomatitis, vascular hemorrhagic diathesis and cardiovascular diseases. Rhinoplasty is preceded by a physical examination, where the patient learns about the course of the surgery. During the visit, the doctor also prescribes necessary diagnostic tests, gathers the patient’s medical history and sets the expected shape and size of the nose after correction. During the two hour surgery, carried out with the use of general anesthesia, the skeleton bone and cartilage are subject to correction. After completing plastic nose surgery, a special ribbon and gypsum are applied, which immobilize it during convalescence?
How to proceed after the surgery?
Pełny powrót do zdrowia zajmuje zazwyczaj kilka tygodni.
