Who is the ideal patient for Silhouette Lift ® procedure?
If you are above 40 years of age, you’ll benefit the most from Silhouette Lift®. The procedure is intended for the patients experiencing the facial sagging and less sharpness in the oval of face and jaw contour or drooping eyebrows and eyelids as well as drooping mouth corners or deep nasolabial grooves.
It is a perfect solution for people after traditional face lifting but experiencing recurrent sagging due to natural ageing processes.
The procedure is recommended to lift loose neck skin.
Silhouette Lift ® threads are applied in corrective procedures for sagging bottoms.
What body parts may be subject to Silhouette Lift ® procedure?
The procedure with the use of threads is performed on the following facial areas:
- cheeks – enhancing cheeks and improving facial contours, so called ‘hamster face’,
- jaws – sharpening contour and eliminating sagging skin,
- eyebrows and eyelids – lifting effect,
- nasolabial grooves – the procedure levels the grooves and makes your face look younger and milder,
- mouth – the procedure reduces mouth wrinkles and corrects drooping mouth corners,
- skin – after the procedure this problematic body part becomes smoother, firmer and excessive skin effect is reduced.
The Silhouette Lift ® procedure with the use of threads is successfully performed on the bottoms by lifting sagging skin.
How does the procedure look like?
In case of procedure on cheeks, 4 sutures are made on each side of face. Threads are placed using a small incision made above the hairline and followed by anchoring the cone to temporal fascia. Then the incision is being sutured and skin covered with bandage.
How long does the procedure take?
Facial procedure lasts about 40 minutes, whereas the neck procedure takes app. 25 minutes. There is no need for the patient to stay in the clinic after the procedure.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The patient may experience mild discomfort related to suture placement and healing processes under the skin. You may individually choose the type of anesthesia after consulting the surgeon performing the procedure.
How long is the recovery time?
The patient may return home directly after the procedure. Within 2 or 4 days patients go back to their normal activities, however skin oedema, feeling of discomfort and bruising may persist up to two weeks. Shaving in men is not recommended for 10 days after the procedure. Avoid sun tanning for app. 6 weeks and swimming for about one month. Cosmetic procedures e.g. facial massage may be performed in 2 months after the procedure. Since the skin recovery processes are highly individualized, please consult the surgeon performing the procedure to obtain more detailed information.
When the procedure effects become visible?
The effects of Silhouette Lift ® procedure are visible right after their placement under skin. Improved tension and lifting is the first visible effect. Full tissue recovery and collagen fibers proliferation processes last app. 9 months.
How long do the results last?
Due to skin reaction to threads, it produces large amounts of new collagen fibers which make the effects visible for up to 4 years. Similarly to the other procedures, Silhouette Lift ® does not stop the natural skin ageing processes.
What are the Silhouette Lift ® threads made of?
The Silhouette Lift ® threads are made of high-quality polypropylene, biocompatible with human tissues. The Silhouette Lift ® threads have been successfully used in cardiovascular and ophthalmic surgery as well as in surgical procedures for patients with cranial nerve palsy for many years. Such specialized use of Silhouette Lift ® threads ensures high safety of use and top quality of their materials. They are authorized to the market by the European Union and the US FDA.
How do the Silhouette Lift ® threads work?
Placement of threads under the skin results in immediate lifting. Silhouette Lift ® threads are perfectly smooth and equipped in oval, gradually absorbable cones. The cones increase the area for collagen proliferation. The new collagen fibers are produced on the cone surface and additionally penetrate it. The entire process of collagen fibers proliferation and micro-cones absorption lasts for app. 9 months. The new collagen has a positive effect on skin quality and ensures stable distribution of threads in tissues. Thanks to Silhouette Lift ® procedure the patient looks naturally younger, experiences no ‘facemask’ effect and unnaturally lifted skin. The procedure reduces wrinkles in places of skin folds and grooves. The threads improve also facial mimics and soften face contours.
What is the difference between Silhouette Lift ® and the other procedures using threads?
The Silhouette Lift ® procedure is much less invasive comparing to the other similar procedures. Certain threads used to attach the lifted area are equipped with anchors which may hurt tissues and result in temporary feeling of stitching. Silhouette Lift ® threads are perfectly smooth, which makes them less invasive to tissues. In addition, oval structure of micro-cones increases the surface of collage poliferation and stability of collagen fibers distribution in skin. In contrary to traditional lifting procedures, in which the incisions are made e.g. behind the ear, the Silhouette Lift ® threads are placed under the skin via small incisions right above the hairline. Thanks to the above, no visible scars, typical for traditional methods, remain. Recovery time and experiencing pain are much shorter comparing to traditional lifting procedures.
How many procedures do I need?
You need only one procedure for the body part you choose e.g. cheeks. The results are long-lasting and allow for obtaining a natural look of corrected face or body part. No ‘facemask’ effect or excessively lifted skin.
